Independents fleeing the sinking ship

I haven't looked over the details of this poll yet so it could have method flaws but I found it interesting that more Independents favor impeachment than censure. From Talk Left:
42 percent of independents favored censuring Bush, 47 percent of them said they favored impeaching the president.

Carrie,

Why is that surprising. Most independents I know are more left than right.

Well, the Independent voters had to be the ones that gave Bush his victory since his base alone didn't do it. Now we can see just how much they seem to be regretting that vote. They regret it so much that they are farther along on this than what everyone else is calling the crazy left of Democrats - Feingold and his supporters.

The last two elections were the Dems to lose, and they did. I would refer to myself as an independent if forced to make a choice, and so would others that are disgusted with both parties.

How much to you think the polls are from a Feingold bounce?

I will be honest, I preferred a 2nd term of Bush to Kerry. I'd much rather have a Republican on the run than a Democrat ruling as one.

I am only happy Carrie did not take Ben's route and take the opportunity to slap Feingold with a penalty for not playing by the rules.
