Boosting the debate up a notch

Columnist Jim Schilken of GM Today has a good column in response to the righties labeling the state a nanny for passing a bill requiring booster seats.

Jim Schilke said "When I was a teenager, I was a passenger in a car accident. I wasn’t wearing a seat belt, and I can still see the brake lights up ahead as my friend checked his blind spot. My head cracked the windshield that night, and fortunately I lived to tell about it."

Jim MIGHT want to ask that friend...

1. If they both saw the brake-lights, Why didn't the "friend" ALSO APPLY HIS BRAKES, instead of checking his "blindspot"? Sounds like two violations to me. Following to closely and inattentive driving.
