Memorial Day Mayhem in Milwaukee
I just got back from a long weekend away. I'm going over the news accounts of the 28 shootings in Milwaukee this weekend.
I haven't seen all the coverage yet, but am sure it is a mere matter of time before we hear the following:
- A plea for more funding for social services in the inner city (Pork)
- A plan for a huge anti-violence rally (Group Hug)
- Blame placed on the gun-culture cultivated by the NRA, which recently had its convention here (Scapegoating)

Investment in the central city is pork? Are you high?
Its amazing that all you do is take pot shots. Do you think that there is nothing to be done in the central city or that all ideas are pork, group hugs, and scapegoating?
Its real easy to take shots but it would be more interesting if you advanced alternatives for discussion.
Shame on you Brian dont you know we as a nation, a state, a county and a city havent spent one thin dime on anitpoverty programs in the last 50 years. Shame on you for being so heartless and cold to point out what will be said by the usual subjects.
I would love to have one liberal person give us one idea that isnt collect up everyones guns.

Here's an idea. Every gun that's produced, a fired rpund (with its unique identifiable pattern) goes into a database; every round recovered from a victim is traceable. How's that?
And/or - tests and licenses. We don't freak because its required for driving.

You are right Fraley, let's just ignore it.
Unlike driving which is done on government built roads I do not need to use anything built by the government to own and use a firearm. I will not submit to having to have a license to own a fire arm

Unlike driving a car owning a gun is a right, not a privliage. there is a big difference. Forcing law abiding citizens to register their guns because of the actions of criminals is wrong and is the first step to having your guns taken away by the government ask the people in England and Australia how that game is played.
How about this use a gun in the crime your sentence starts at 20 years then we add on for what ever the crime was, no parole no time off for good behavior you serve every day.
Use a gun go to jail stay in jail Put the thugs away a long time. I know the idea of punishing the person who commits the crime is a strange one to most libs but trust me it works everytime its tried.
now that is an idea that would actually help make the streets safer.
Prisons over become over crowed by this idea fine build more prisons they creat jobs for what ever small out of the way town gets the prison and once again gets thugs off the street leaving the good people a safe place to live and raise thier children a win win if you will.
The answers are simple we just need the will to carry them out.
