More on TPA
Amazing.
Those who disliked the first draft of the Taxpayer Protection Amendment also dislike the new version.
Duh.
There may be one or two tweaks to go.
I don't imagine they'll like those much either.
Some of them may even bother to read each version before distributing the press releases.

The latest version of TPA is almost totally unrecognizable from the previous version. The basic concept remains but the details have changed a lot. It seems that it would be wrong to suddenly vote to approve the latest proposal without a new round of review.
Generally sudden new things are hard to support in political bodies. I think TPA is dead this year and may never come back. If so, I think the Republicans will pay a price. - Amongst the predicted losers - Wood, Lazich, Zien and any other Republican running in a possible competitive district. The loyalists will just stay home. The moderates Republicans could cross over.
I think they have read the new version but who could blame them if they didn't. The legislators, including the authors, don't read them or know what the amendments do before they issue press releases saying they support it.
