Holloway Committee Stacking Pays Off...For Now
The Milwaukee County Chairman Lee Holloway, who has a history of actually physically intimidating his adversaries, removes Supervisor Roger Quindel from the Finance Committee after Quindel is critical of Holloway.
He replaces Quindel with an ally, Supervisor Peggy West (Whose phone number, by the way is 414-278-4269).
So, Chairman Lee Holloway reconfigures the make up of the committee that has the first crack at the purse strings of the Ethics Board.
He admits to the press that his strategy is to run up the bill, expecting the Ethics Board will run out of funding.
West remains enamored with her patron, the beleaguered chairman, comparing him to Rosa Parks. (By the way, here are the boundaries of her district, in case you were wondering if she represents you.)
Now holding a majority of votes on the finance committee, Holloway's hacks vote to delay continued funding for the Holloway case, citing the financial state of
"With our deficits, we can't afford this," West is quoted as saying.
Well why has all this cost so much?
“If I have to go, I have to go, but as long as I’m here I’m going to fight it to the end,” he told a reporter. “I’ll play hardball.” Holloway once said.
Indeed. And the game costs a lot of money.

(As an aside, although the outgoing chair of the Ethics Board has expressed his frustration and said he believes the case is over, we still have a way to go)

The Thug has succeeded - the Ethics Board chair announced on Charlie's show that there is no more Holloway investigation, and that there will be no more Ethics Board meetings.
Maybe the ethics board screwed up filing 90 charges oing back a decade. wouldn't a dozen have done the trick, dealing with the most important ones? Don't prosecutors make decisions like that all the time?
It would have cost the same amount of money to go after the most-recent dozen, and Lee "Thug" Holloway would have done the exact same thing with the exact same results.

So, only those Holloway haters on the Board should be allowed to vote? Its a chairman's job to appoint committees. And, this guy did what all chairs of every board has ever done, appoint allies. Holloway is a thug for not appointing enemies?
And CRG's mock up of the black folks on the board as dogs is pretty pathetic.
