Ground Hog Day

The Milwaukee County Board meets this morning.

The King, who plays hardball, is still in this throne because the MAJORITY of the board does not.

The members of the Milwaukee County Board certainly appear to be gutless. There is no other way to look at it. They accept defeat too easily and they cower at claims that their actions are racially motivated.

As long as Holloway remains at the helm of the Board every single member, from Broderick to Quindel to Schmitt to White to West are tainted by his ethical cloud.

It would be quite simple to prove me wrong. Letters and press conferences are all well and good. But how about something official? Hold a vote of no confidence on Holloway. Make every member of the board cast their vote and show their constituents, once and for all and on the record, where they stand.

If you're not willing to go to court in order to let the majority rule, the least you can do is let the will of the majority be officially recorded.

This is just overblown silliness. First, the white faction already tried to change 80 years of law to get Holloway. Isn't that enough effort for you?

Your near panic that Holloway may not be thrown out of the Chair BEFORE the claims against hime are proven one way or thr other has gotten to be a little funny. Oh No! Contageous ethic cloud spreading!! The terrorists are winning!

The only "cloud" or "distraction" at the Board related to Holloway is that a few members and maybe you and handful of other Holloway haters -- want all other business stopped until Hollway is taken out. Hate to tell you Fraley, this is simply not the huge, world-ending crisis you seem to think.

My fav line: "prove me wrong?" A little self-important Fraley. Do you think we live in a blogocracy?

Anonymous,

Holloway runs the board in absentia most of the time. When he does show up, he's petty and vindictive.

The entire controversy over his continued leadership centers aound the fact that he's a terrible leader of the board. Many on the board believe he is gone so much because he has to spend a lot of time fighting the 90 ethics counts against him.

Now that the appeals court has ruled the case must proceed, we may finaly see some resolution to those charges.

Get your facts from someone other than CRG. Holloway led the successful effort to override many of Walker's biggest budget vetos and he was a major leader in saving the court's budget, just to name two of the biggest issues of the last year or so. He was the man.

You may disagree with what he did but the idea that he isn't doing the job and doing it effectively is just not true.

And besides, if you want a new chair because you don't like the jib this one is doing, say so. Cloaking it as an overblow, shrill attack on ethics is just dishonest.

Yeah -- you take a press release from one the main guys out to get Holloway and you call it fact.

The press release youc ite is one of Quindel's many attempts to get at Holloway. The only nice thing I can about Quindel is that he doesn't try to hide it, he's been trying to destroy holloway for ages.

How about some more facts.
It was not Holloway that led the fight against Walker's vetos, it was Rich Nyklewicz. Holloway gets cc'ed and memoed on the issues because he is the chair and has to refer things to the proper committees. It was also Nyklewicz and Cheif Judge Brennan who worked to save the Courts.

Where was Holloway on:
- The Annex (which now is millions over)
- The Airport Authority - took weeks to respond
- The PERC (Park East Redev Compact)? He did not join on until about 8 other Sups had laid the groundwork and done the leg work.
- The Museum? Nothing but a press conference weeks after the fact -about 4 Supervisors attended (cause of last minute publicity on it)
- How about when he got loaded at a local Union holiday party and began screaming at Parks Director Sue Black about not hiring enough African Americans?
- The same day he blew up at Quindel he called Schmitt and Devine "coward asses" in the front lobby.
Real Classy! Is this a leader?
