Dan Schoof.
Former state Assembly member Dan Schooff of Beloit has become the point man in Gov. Jim Doyle's re-election bid.Schooff's appointment as Doyle's campaign manager was announced today."Dan Schooff is a proven leader and is well respected as a former legislator and as a former member of my administration,"Doyle said in a news release. "I look forward to his great work as we continue to make Wisconsin a more affordable place for working and middle class families to live."
Schooff said he's been the campaign's political director for about two weeks. He replaces Rich Judge, who stepped down for personal reasons, according to the news release.

And Jim Doyle just made ethics a campaign issue. He couldn't attack Walker and Green for their connections to Jensen because of Rich's admissions to the John Doe. Now, he can take the gloves off and trash Green and Walker without the reprisals (in his mind).
Also quite the rise for the Doyle loyalists. Schoof was one of the few Legislative Dems to endorse and stick with Doyle through thick and thin. From Assemblyman to Admisitrator to Executive Assistant to Political Director to Campaign manager. All in just over a year and a half. It pays to carry the Governor's water.
Not sure I agree with Comment #1. Can Doyle really be that clueless? Wouldn't you think he'd have to do a lot of hallucinating to come up with anything significant that would stick to Green or Walker for more than a day? Graul-gate has pretty much died. And what, if anything, could you ever say about Pfaff? Workaholic, yes...but extremely clean.
Maybe more to the point, there's a small matter of a pending pay for play investigation/indictment in the administration.
Bringing in the clean nosed kid to be the face of the campaign is a fine idea, but it in no way gives the guy latitude to swing away on ethics.
Don't look now, but the DPW is trying to dredge up Graul-gate, etc. again. Wonder what they are smoking?!
