Donovan Riley v. Plale

In a recent press release, potential Democrat state senate candidate Donovan Riley identifies himself as an attorney.

There is only one Donovan Riley listed as a member of the State Bar of Wisconsin.

If this information from the State Bar of Wisconsin is correct and current, Donovan Riley's law license is currently suspended. Before he takes on Jeff Plale, it would appear Donovan Riley may have some work to do. If this isn't Riley, then he is not a listed member of the Wisconsin Bar.

From the Bar:
Suspension description
Noncompliance of Continuing Legal Education Credits Suspension
This lawyer's license is suspended for failing to comply with the reporting requirement for continuing legal education and may not practice law in Wisconsin. Any lawyer under this suspension may petition the Supreme Court Board of Bar Examiners for a license reinstatement. Please consult SCR Chapter 31, Continuing Legal Education, for complete rules.

Oh my God, that's like the hardest way in the world to lose your law license (I should know - I'm a lawyer). If he lost his license just because he didn't go to his CLE classes he is truly one lazy dude.

Does Riley actually practice law these days? If so, he's got a problem. If not, your post seems like a dishonest smear. Did you check before you continued your attacked on him?

Jeff Plale has been a fine servant and a good Democrat. I wish this Riley would stop listening to Fred Kessler and spend his money to help beat actual Republicans.

The point is that Plale is a Republican who runs on the Democratic line becuase he can't win if he doesn't. Pretty much like the Milwaukee County Sheriff. So much for principle.

Jeff Plale is not a good Democrat, as evidenced once again by his support for the "concealed carry" bill that just passed the Senate.

With Democrats like Plale, who needs Republicans? This DINO does not represent most of his constituency...

As a resident of Bay View (19 years), I am pleased with Jeff Plale's representation of my district. He is visible, accessible, and honest. The district which he represents is quite diverse - Oak Creek up to Shorewood. Do you really think anybody could please this entire district? Senator Plale does a good job to give equal time to all parts of his district and for this, he deserves respect. I don't like to get involved in politics, but when I notice a respectable leader, I like to offer my support.

Do you think that a politician who moves from Oconomowoc to Milwaukee (Donovan Riley) to run for a political position truly knows or cares to get to know his potential constituency, or is it just part of the political game? What a slap in the face to all of us who have resided in this district for many years/all of our lives.

"Anonymous" at 10:20pm: What is Jeff's mom still doing up at this time? Just because Jeff has lived in the district for a long time does not mean his votes reflect most of his constituency. Blogger at 10:02pm: there is nothing honest about a politician who tries to circumvent our elected officials to get an Airport Authority passed. You need to read and be aware! The voters will have their say in September.

According to Riley's Website, he identifies himself as attorney (retired). If that's the case, then of course he wouldn't have kept MCLE current.
