Too good to be true

Poll puts Doyle lead at 13 percent; Green disputes itI agree with Green. (Mark that down.)

MILWAUKEE (AP) -- Gov. Jim Doyle leads Republican challenger Mark Green by 13 points in a new poll released Thursday that was immediately disputed by a Green campaign spokesman as "flat out wrong."
The lead is more than double that shown in a survey released earlier this month.
The latest poll done by the St. Norbert College Survey Center and paid for both by the college and Wisconsin Public Radio surveyed 400 likely voters between Oct. 9 and Oct. 16. The margin of error was plus or minus 5 percentage points.
The poll showed the Democratic incumbent with 51 percent support and Green with 38 percent. Wisconsin Green Party candidate Nelson Eisman had 1 percent, with 7 percent undecided and 4 percent choosing other.
Best guess, from a variety of polls done in the last couple of weeks, is that the poll released yesterday by One Wisconsin Now, which had Doyle up 6 (7 among definite voters) is about right.

(Green Bay) – Congressman Mark Green's gubernatorial campaign is hailing recently released polling data as further evidence that “Mark Green is on track to be the next Governor of Wisconsin.”
While the Wisconsin Public Radio/St. Norbert College survey did show Doyle with a 45%-32% lead over Green, the findings were nearly identical to results released by the Wisconsin Policy Research Institute, Inc. (WPRI) in October. In that poll, Doyle also was shown to have a 13% lead over Green. However, among voters who know both Mark Green and Jim Doyle, Green held a commanding 16 point lead of 55% to 39%.
.
The latest Zogby polls show Doyle at 47% and Green at 46% with 10% undecided. Another poll, the Public Opinion Strategies poll shows Doyle at 42% and Green at 40% with 18% undecided. The evidence is clearly showing that Wisconsin is slowing moving to Green. It begs the question what will you, Bill, and your buddy Elmer "Doyle" Fud do when you both are unemployed?
If your dreams do come true, gwc, perhaps both Bill and Doyle could teach English and spelling at your "parochal" school.
Other Side, be fair; if you're quoting from the profile on his website, he tried to fix it.
Now it's "parichial."
Oh brother, other side. Just shows you're a pompous, arrogant little man. Just like Bill, and Doyle. By the way you must suck at your occupation because unlike me, I don't have to work to love my wife and kids it comes naturally. Stick that in your pipe and smoke butthead.
Very cool, gwc ... and you're a member of a school board. Perhaps the other members would like to see how you behave in public.
FYI: I retired at the age of 48 because I did not have to work anymore. What's your excuse?
Oh, the attempt at hippy humor is pretty lame. All of you uptight conservatives use it.
I'll be waiting for your next comment, because I will keep on shadowing you.
I just put a post up on my blog:
http://reform-dem.blogspot.com
about Doyle's approve/disapprove numbers from the Survey USA tracking polls.
...and if you're not feeling like a political wonk right now you can always just scroll down on my blog and look at the political cartoons!
You all jump at the smallest of polls.
There is one major fact. Since Dec of 2005, Doyle has led. Never behind, never less than 4 pts ahead.
This should tell everyone something.
Mark Green is not making any headway. The last two weeks will not make any difference, as the long term results show him behind.
Wisconsinites are not happy with Republicans.
Green's home County, Brown had a higher than average primary turnout and 56% to 38% voted Democratic.
Of the 94 wards in that county, only 2 went GOP. In 2004 it was a complete opposite with the GOP taking those same results.
The election is not local, it is a mandate on Bush, Iraq, health care and corruption.
Suing the state to be Governor is what will kill Green.
