Stem cells key issue: WashPost's Broder

The Washington Post's David Broder checks in on the Wisconsin governor's race, and the headline ends up being about stem cell research.

Broder ends with this quote from a Democrat who's concerned about the race:
"If [Doyle] can make this a case of the Republicans being know-nothings who are opposed to science and progress, it might really hurt Green with suburban independents. Green doesn't fit the stereotype, but people don't know much about him yet."

As if this case has yet to be made.

Republicans as know-nothings?

Watch out for the lying about their fake science, as they are Global Warming Deniers.

And remember the "Healthy Forests Act," and "The Clear Skies Act,' both of which helped certain big businesses at the expense of public health.

And to Attorney Esenberg: Bush is not opposed to stem cell science research. Just the kind that has the most promise because it's an easy way to pander to the right.

Limitations on science restrict the human spirit, inventiveness, inquiry and progress.

President Bush isn't opposed to it. He's opposed to funding it in its entirety. He already spends more on it than his predecessor.

And if it had as much promise as you claim, wouldn't the private sector be flocking to it to make some money off of it? You know, like ADM peddles ethanol?
