Green's non-Wisconsin donors
These days, you have to savor even small, partial victories.
I've complained more than once about the stories on out-of-state contributions to the candidates for gov, most recently when the Wisconsin Democracy Campaign did its tally 10 days ago.
Today's Journal Sentinel story, while still highlighting Doyle's non-Wisconsin donors, at least acknowledged what I've been saying:
Green, meanwhile, received 96% of his money from Wisconsin residents. Virginia residents led his out-of-state donors, donating $18,862 of the $115,217 non-Wisconsin total...That's progress, of sorts. They still didn't get it right, however. About $500,000 came from out of state political action committees.
The analysis did not take into account some $1.3 million that Green, a four-term member of the U.S. House, shifted from his congressional account to the governor's race. About $500,000 of that came from out-of-state givers. If that money is taken into account, 15% of Green's total funds came from out-of-state donors, vs. Doyle's 22%.
Now, if someone would look at the other $800,000 in individual contributions Green transferred in, I think they'd find a lot of that is from Washington lobbyists, power brokers and influence peddlers, too. It wouldn't surprise me if it turned out that 22% of Green's money was from out of state. But I don't want to know badly enough to get and go through the reports. Mike McCabe and the Democracy Campaign seem to have the time and staff for data entry and number crunching. How about it, Mikey?

Or they could look at little deeper into why 50% of Doylie's contributions came from donors of $5,000 or more.
After the dizzyness from the spin wears off be sure to read the whole article. Doyle needs lots of help when the JS seems against him.
The JS is on a witch hunt plain and simple. Biased reporters and biased editors. Its the ongoing TMJing of Journal Communications. Stock continues to slide, they continue to try to be more and more like Fox News. If they can only get that conservative, that will make the readers come back, stop their circulation slide and make them relevant again.
You must have missed it. The report is right there with the ones from Coalition for America's Families and Americans for Prosperity.
Greater Wis. is in compliance with all state and federal campaign and tax laws.
None of them require a website.
You have to remember that when Doyle gets money it's because people support him, when Green gets money it's because he's crooked. Duh.
Or vice versa, according to the Journal Sentinel and the GOP.
