Clearly, you are making fun of Sen. Brown, fair enough, but, on Sept, 2nd Governor Doyle issued a press release about it too (http://www.wisgov.state.wi.us/journal_media_detail.asp?prid=1318). He even gave a speech about it. Why is it only funny when Sen. Brown issues a press release?
As a former Fire Chief (from his press release), I can see where he may actually have a genuine interest in emergency preparedness.
Did I miss some deeper level of irony on this one?
Because I'm sure that you wouldn't want to appear as being PURELY partisan, I assume you are also poking fun at the Governor and the WI National Guard who both noted that September is Preparedness Month???
But maybe you just happened to "overlook" the Governor and National Guard; wouldn't want to work too hard on Labor Day.

I guess it as escaped your notice that I am a Democrat with a partisan point of view, not a news service. There is no shortage of right-wing outlets to nitpick out every move Doyle makes, so I leave that to them.
At least you're honest. Maybe not fair, but honest.
